On the 3rd Sunday of September, for the past 27 years, Leeds Bradford Triathlon club have run the Ilkley Triathlon. A Sprint Distance event, so that’s 500m swim, 14 km bike ride and 5km run, it’s become a hugely popular event and has some very famous names gracing its list of winners, including the Brownlee brothers. It has won the 220 Triathlon Award for best event under 500 entrants on numerous occasions.
We first helped out at the event in 2011, offering free pre and post-race massage to the participants, and we’ve been there every year since. During this time, we have been able to raise money for a wide range of charities from the generous donations made by those who use our service. This includes Parkinsons UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Carers Resource, Riding for the Disabled, National Autism Group and most recently the England Amputee Football Association.
It is always a fantastic event to be part of and we look forward to supporting the event for many more years to come.
