Doreen Killens – A biography

Doreen Killens graduated with distinction from McGill University in 1978.

She completed her qualifications for RCAMT and FCAMT in 1988 and 1993 respectively, and taught manual therapy across Canada for 25 years. In addition, she was an examiner for the Orthopaedic Division of the CPA from 1996 until 2017 . She was also a Chief Examiner from 2009 until 2015.

Doreen has used an integrated whole person approach to treatment throughout her career and is a graduate of the Discover Physio Series (Montreal 2009). She has a particular interest in dysfunctions of the cranial, dural and fascial systems and has found  this combined approach to treatment particularly beneficial not only for the treatment of headaches but for “hard to treat” clients with chronic conditions.

Doreen took her first cranio-sacral course with “The Cranial Institute” in 1986 and since then, has taken different cranial courses worldwide, in particular in Australia  and Canada with Harry von Piekart and in Michigan with Dr. Greenman of Michigan State University, School of Osteopathy. Her approach to the cranial system is therefore a varied one, which incorporates the concepts of manual therapy.
